A missing child can be a parent’s and grandparent’s worst nightmare–see what happens when a parent fails to keep his eye on his young daughter in North Carolina. Special report from Beverly Mahone of Boomer Diva Nation. http://www.babyboomerbev.blogspot.com

Just yesterday morning as I walked down the local shopping strip a little girl was in the phone box holding the phone to her ear. I thought ‘how cute, she’s pretending to be on the phone’. She must have been all of 4 years of age.
But when I looked around I could not see a parent attached to her – who did she belong to?
I continued walking towards and past her, watching her and then a man walked up to her and said something and I thought ‘that’s her dad but it wasn’t obvious he was nearby’. Not sure where he came from and in fairness, he may have had an eye on her, but to me that wasn’t obvious at all. She definitely appeared to be on her own for at least a couple of minutes. It doesn’t take long for them to disappear…..

Kathie,
The sad thing is there are too many parents who tend to focus on something or someone else other than their child–but when their child turns up missing they don’t feel they did anything to contribute to the child’s disappearance. The other sad part is we have to be overprotective because there are so many perverts out here.
