Just because you’re on vacation doesn’t mean you have to take a break from your workout. Fitness expert and Boomer Diva Nation member Becky Williamson demonstrates how you can do a little sight-seeing and get a good workout in while on vacation.

Good job, Becky. It’s fun to get someone else’s ideas for interval training.

Far out Becky, I’ll need to lose a few pounds before I could even begin jumping up & down like that! lol LOVED how you managed to make the most of what was available around you, very clever!
BTW–Are ‘dips’ ok, for someone who has a rod/screws in back?

Hi Debbie,
Thanks for the comment! No worries about not feeling like you can jump at this point. Get out, get moving and break a sweat–that’s all I ask
. Everything I did in that video can be modified down (or up) to suit just about anyone’s needs. In the step up, for instance, just choose a lower step. And when I am seen jogging–just walk fast!
To answer your question about dips: It’s always best to speak to your doctor about your specific question, but in general, dips should not be a problem for someone with rods/screws in their back. They’re hard if you don’t have a lot of upper body strength, but they should not affect the integrity of your back and the repairs that were done.
Keep on keepin’ on!
Becky
P.S. I have another vacation workout in the works…..stay tuned….
